Article Abstract:
One positive result of the 1873 economic depression in the town of Jefferson is that historic buildings were not destroyed and replaced. The historic buildings now form the town's tourist attractions, in addition to more than 50 bed and breakfast accommodations, and good restaurants.

Hudson Valley Entree

Hudson Valley, New York has two of the finest food and lodging places in the state, the Beekman Arms inn and the Culinary Institute of America. The Beekman Arms Inn was built in 1766 and boast of prominent guests such as George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette.

Booming Branson

Branson, MO, a small town in the Ozark Mountains, has become a thriving center for country music and theater. Branson has over 30 live theaters, and attracts many tourists. Many prominent stars perform in Branson, some of whom have built their own theaters.
