The Civil War Sharps rifle

Rifles manufactured by the Sharps Rifle Manufacturing Co were one of the excellent combat breech-loading guns during the Civil War. These rifles incorporated a breechblock that supported the insertion of a linen cartridge. They also featured hammer action and a pellet-cutoff system.

Krag: the last cavalry carbine
Article Abstract:
The Krag carbine became the standard arm of the US cavalry in the late 1890's. It has the ability to be used as a single-shot with a cut-off lever that holds a five-round-capacity magazine. The carbine served the US cavalry from 1896 to 1905.
