The impact of tourism in developing countries on the health of local host communities: the need for more research
Article Abstract:
The literature on the impact of tourism in developing countries on the host countries' health status suggests sizable gaps in the knowledge of travel's health impacts, and among potential impacts identified are workplace health and safety concerns in relation to local tourism employees.A possible framework for understanding tourism's health impacts and their interrelationships is given.

Targeted interpretation: exploring relationships among visitors' motivations, activities, attitudes, information needs and preferences
Article Abstract:
Interpretation plays a key role in connecting tourists with the sites they visit. Research indicates that tourists are more likely to recall information that resonates with their own personal experiences. Creating relevance and meaning for tourists therefore requires understanding of their general and individual needs as they correspond to the site being visited.
