An appreciation of seven recently erected buildings around the world which either offer services for tourists or which attract tourists. Buildings examined are the Modern Art Museum in Forth Worth, Texas; the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington; Bergisel Ski Jump in Innsbruck, Austria; the Falkirk Wheel in Falkirk, Scotland; the Shizuoka Prefectural Fuji Swimming Pool in Fuji City, Japan; the Bed Supperclub in Bangkok, Thailand; and the Kingdom Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The marvels include the monumental stainless steel jelly bean as well as the stainless steel footbridge in Millennium Park, Chicago; the skyscraper 30 St Mary Axe, in London; Japan's Matsumoto Performing Arts Center; Seattle Public Library; Tokyo's glowing glass box Dior Omotesando; and the Langden Foundation in Germany.
