One way to envision what people thought of America when it was first being settled is to know that there are 20 communities named Paradise in the US. It was the name given to places that were thought to be God's country. A look at some of these places is included.

Cuba is trying to encourage tourism in an attempt to revive its badly damaged economy and has been somewhat successful, despite the official US travel ban for Americans. Havana is in obvious disrepair but it still has a charm that is very attractive to Europeans.
