Consumers should check the fine print on vouchers carefully. Carriers prefer to use them rather than cash refunds because so many are never redeemed. Some of the reason they may be useless, include short time limitation, or restricted to an area that the traveler won't be visiting again.

Kinsley wrong on air safety

Time magazine editor Michael Kinsley stated that air safety was compromised by low-fare airlines, as they are unsafe. Such thinking is incorrect, as all airlines must conform to the same safety standards and other factors, such as air traffic, must be taken into account.
