A cleaner way to nylon?
Article Abstract:
Epsilon-caprolactam (CPL) is the essential monomer for making nylon-6, which has widespread application as a textile and an industrial fiber, and more than four million tonnes of CPL are produced each year. The redox sites in AIPO catalyze the formation of hydroxylamine from ammonia and air and the reaction of hydroxylamine with cyclohexanone produces the cyclohexanone oxime, which is then converted to CPL in a rearrangement catalyzed by the acid sites in the AIPO

Phenomenal fluids
Article Abstract:
The peculiar properties of fluids in a supercritical state are described. Supercriticality allows fluids to alternate between transparency and reflectivity and solids to dissolve into gases.
