The epidemic of allergy and asthma
Article Abstract:
Allergic diseases, such as asthma, rhinitis, eczema and food allergy are reaching epidemic proportions, due to increased exposure to sensitizing allergens and reduced stimulation of the immune system during critical development periods. New public health and therapeutic intervention opportunities will be created by the understanding of the cellular ad molecular mechanisms of allergic disease.

The alliance of genes and environment in asthma and allergy
Article Abstract:
Asthma, eczema and hay fever are typified by reactions to common allergens, mediated by immunoglobulin E. There is increased prevalence of such allergic diseases which are the result of interactions between genetic and environmental mechanism. Asthma has become an epidemic, and eczema is a common as asthma.
