A perspective on surfaces and interfaces
Article Abstract:
A demonstration on how the merging of different scientific streams has given a commanding toolbox, which makes it possible to advances the frontiers of interface science and technology in fields as diverse as electronics, cell biology and sensor development, is presented. Although incisive experimental tools for probing surfaces are developed later, scientists, and engineers nevertheless had useful and physical concepts on hand to guide their thinking.
