Accumulation of copper in the liver of moose in Finland
Article Abstract:
A study conducted in different regions in Finland revealed differences in the amount of copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn) and molybdenum (Mo) found in the liver of the moose (Alces, alces) that depend on the age of the moose and the concentration of Cu in the soil. The livers of moose fetuses and young calves contain an excess of Cu, with males having higher levels than females. There is no relationship between Zn and Cu or Mo and Cu.

Habitat relationships of moose on the Copper River Delta in coastal south-central Alaska
Article Abstract:
Moose were introduced into the Copper River Delta, Alaska, between 1949 and 1958, and the population is estimated to have reached 282 individuals by 1988. A study undertaken between 1987 and 1989 evaluates moose habitat relationships on a large river delta. The study concludes that the present moose population could be increased although sever winters could cause high mortalities.
