Cognitive processes in hunters' recall of participation and harvest estimates
Article Abstract:
A study hypothesized that hunters' use of approximate response for participation and harvest survey questions was prompted by the cognitive complexity of giving an exact answer. The findings suggested that the relative frequency of using approximate response in a neighborhood was statistically constant across years and species despite differences in day-harvest frequencies.

Analysis of habitat selection studies with multiple patches within cover types
Article Abstract:
Effective wildlife management requires an evaluation of the habitat selection of individuals or populations, but current methods are inadequate for studying the link between the patterns of use of the landscape and the area's suitability for the species being studied. A statistical method for habitat selection studies with mosaics of patches within cover types is presented.

Harvest parameters of urban and rural mourning doves in Ohio
Article Abstract:
A reward banding study conducted in Ohio, USA between 1996-1998 to compare harvest rates in urban and rural areas and estimate the overall harvest rate and band-reporting rates of mourning doves is discussed. It indicates that the Ohio hunters largely caused hunting pressure on the doves.
