Androgen receptor (AR) maps to Xp1.1-q1.1 in the porcine genome
Article Abstract:
Androgen receptor (AR) was found capable of mapping to the human genome, implying that gene order between human and porcine genomes has been conserved throughout the entire chromosome. This was found when a positive identification of a clone was made following the screening of a porcine yeast artificial chromosome by PCR with primers developed from the human AR sequence. Fluorescence in situ hybridization was employed in physically assigning the locus to porcine metaphase chromosome spreads.

Rapid communication: identification of two microsatellite loci that map to porcine chromosome 3
Article Abstract:
A porcine genomic DNA library was scrutinized for microsatellites and primers subsequently developed to genotype markers. Polymorphisms for KS1 and KS2 were reported, with 164 informative meiosis being recorded for KS1 and 166 informative meiosis reported for KS2. KS1 and KS2, which were both easy to score, might be useful for research involving mapping QTL on porcine chromosome 3. The study, its methodology and analyses are presented.

Rapid communication: identification of two microsatellite loci that map to porcine chromosome 6
Article Abstract:
A porcine genomic DNA library was scrutinized for microsatellites and primers subsequently developed to genotype markers. Polymorphisms for KS3 and KS 4 were reported, with 43 informative meiosis recorded for Ks3 and 152 informative meiosis recorded for KS4. KS3 and KS4, which were both easy to score, may be useful to researchers mapping QTL on porcine chromosome 6. The study, its methodology and analyses are presented.
