Another important organ
Article Abstract:
The size of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BSTc) of the brain appears to have an effect on the human sexual behavior. The BSTc, a part of the hypothalamus involved in the regulation of synchronous movements is smaller in women and transsexual men compared to non-transexual men though not smaller in all gay men. The activity of BSTc may be affected by the hormone level in the body. The sexually dimorphic nucleus of the preoptic area is larger in adult men compared to adult women.

Females can also be from Mars
Article Abstract:
Researchers have shown that partner preference and mating behavior in adult female mice are controlled by pheromone sensing. The studies have shown that neural pathways responsible for male-typical sexual behavior are present in the brains of females but lie dormant, and that it is the gender-specific processing of sensory or feminine nature of behavior.

A functional circuit underlying male sexual behavior in the female mouse brain
Article Abstract:
The role of the vomeronasal organ (VNO) in female sexual receptivity is analyzed by introducing a sexually experienced male to the home cage of [Trpc2.-/-] females. The results have shown that VNO-mediated pheromone inputs have acted in wild-type females to repress male behavior and activate female behaviors.
