Article Abstract:
The National Science Foundation (NSF), which funds most work in the discipline by US researchers, is preparing guidelines on when and how data should be released for general analysis by researchers other than those who find the fossils. The opinion on how the rules should be framed is discussed.

Mexican scientists presently have the skills and technology to study their backlog of ancient bones. Unlike the United States, Mexico sees very little conflict between researchers and indigenous peoples when it comes to research on human remains.
