Arginine vasotocin increases calling-site acquisition by nonresident male grey treefrogs
Article Abstract:
Responses of male grey treefrogs, Hyla versicolor, to the neuropeptide arginine vasotocin (AVT) were examine by injecting the frogs with AVT and then staging field encounters between two males. Results show that AVT increased the mating calls of males from a resident's calling site. AVT also increased the ability of an intruder male in acquiring calling sites from resident males without resorting to physical aggression in staged encounters.

Microhabitat selection by the Pacific treefrog, Hyla regilla
Article Abstract:
The background choice behavior of the Pacific tree frog is investigated which is a species that exhibits a complex color polymorphism. It is seen that a sensory bias that is genetically linked body color lead to the substrate color preference but there is no evidence for differences in spectral sensitivity curves.

The neuropeptide arginine vasotocin alters male call characteristics involved in social interactions in the grey treefrog, Hyla versicolor
Article Abstract:
Research is presented describing the effects of varying doses of neuropeptide arginine vasotocin (AVT) on the grey treefrog's calling characteristics. AVT is shown to increase the number of pulses in a call and its duration, but not its dominant frequency.
