The article demonstrates how static sustainability indices can be insufficient in developing sustainable hunting policies. Although situation-dependent methods yield the best results, characterizing the curves of supply and demand is also useful.

Long-term range recession and the persistence of caribou in the taiga
Article Abstract:
Research on caribou populations in the Ontario, Canada taiga region indicates that caribou preservation may depend on spatial separation from human encroachment. Hunting and loss of range were found to be primary agents of decline.

A study on the effects of progressive clearcut lumbering on Newfoundland Caribou is presented. Results conclude that the female Caribou are highly affected by timber harvesting.
