Atomic transient recorder
Article Abstract:
Recording atomic transients in real time requires excitation and probing on timescale. The transient recorder is capable of resolving atomic electron dynamics within the Bohr orbit time when it is approximately equal to 750-nm laser probe and approximately equal to 100-eV excitation.

Optical pumping of a single hole spin in a quantum dot
Article Abstract:
A new approach for confining a single hole spin to a self-assembled quantum dot by employing the technique of optical pumping is discussed. The technique is found to be extremely efficient, as it even works at zero magnetic field.

Hybridization of electronic states in quantum dots through photon emission
Article Abstract:
New opportunities in photonics has opened up due to the self-assembly of semiconductor quantum dots. Quantum dots are described as 'artificial atoms', because electron and hole confinement gives rise to discrete energy levels.
