Article Abstract:
Floral populations are used to assess high-taxon richness as a tool for predicting local vascular plant species richness. Findings show that families have only a limited potential for calculating local species richness estimations, while genera have a better potential.

Designatable Units for Status Assessment of Endangered Species

Designatable units (DUs) help develop conservation policies that avoid value judgments implying evolutionary significance or importance. DUs have been adopted by Canada for assessment under its Canadian Species at Risk Act.
