Gray whales and the value of monitoring data in implementing the US Endangered Species Act
Article Abstract:
Issues discussed concern the value of population monitoring data to the task of implementing regulations under the US Endangered Species Act, focusing on the population statistics of the gray whale. Eleven years of survey data is sampled, resulting in the conclusion that the gray whale should not be included in the endangered species list.
