Behavioural suppression of female pine voles after replacement of the breeding male
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the mechanism of reproductive suppression in the pine voles, Microtus pinetorum. Disrupted groups of pine voles were compared with intact families. It was proposed that the mother's tugging on the daughter may lead to subordination of the female offspring. Results showed that behavioral interactions among pine voles were dependent on the presence of an unfamiliar male and suggested that the presence of a breeding female decreased the production of litters by 75%.

Testosterone and competitive ability in male house mice, Mus musculus: laboratory and field studies
Article Abstract:
High testosterone levels in male house mice increase aggressive behavior and lead to an enhanced survival instinct when compared to mice with low testosterone levels. The testosterone level leads to a variation in dominant behavior and competitive ability of the male and female house mice. A study was conducted to prove this using wild house mice, and it discovered that Male house mice with high testosterone levels enjoy longer lives than mice with low testosterone levels.

Position of operant costs affects visits to resources by laboratory mice, Mus musculus
Article Abstract:
Four operant treatments were used in the investigation of the effect of the position of the operant cost on behavioral organization in mice, Mus musculus. The position of the operant costs was varied across the route to and from the resource cage. Results show that mice will spend longer time in the resource cage if the exit route carry an operant cost while more visits are made in resource cages with an entrance cost.
