Boston locals fight government scheme for bioterror defence lab
Article Abstract:
Local residents and the scientists of the U.S. have triggered strong objections to build a $178-million infectious diseases laboratory at Boston University. Boston City Council was about to hold a public hearing on 20 April on the safety of the proposed laboratory, but three of the 13 members declared their support for a proposed municipal law that outlaws this facility.

Demo backs animal lab in Oxford
Article Abstract:
Hundreds of students and scientists rallied across streets of Oxford in favor of the city's new biomedical lab. The ralley happened in response to threats from animal liberationists who claim that anyone associated with the University of Oxford is a legitimate target for physical violence.

The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) was shut down after the storage devices were found missing. It is reported that while research employees will undergo training, government officials will be examining the laboratory.
