The plans to host the world's tallest wind farm at the site of Freedom Tower, New York are discussed. The tower will be the most viable symbol of renewable energy with as many as 30 spinning wind turbines in its upper storeys according to the plan.

A statistical method for estimating animal populations is proving increasingly useful in documenting human rights abuses. Its latest achievement was to reconcile conflicting accounts of the death toll from two decades of civil war in Peru.
