Capital attractions
Article Abstract:
Germany's capital, Berlin, an island for almost 30 years during the cold war, has reinvented itself since 1990 as the melting pot of people and cultures that it used to be in the early twentieth century. The city is an unlikely mix of the nostalgic and the futuristic, the trivial and the sublime, a matches memorial of history and a bold promise of tomorrow, and a place changing so fast that is hard to keep pace.
