Cattle Grazing Mediates Climate Change Impacts on Ephemeral Wetlands
Article Abstract:
The critical role of land management status in understanding the effects of climate change on ecological systems is emphasized, using the impact of grazing on vernal pool ecology as an illustration. Gazing maintained pools an average of 50 days longer per year than pools in ungrazed areas, and affected pool susceptibility to salamander and branchiopod populations.

Use of Substitute Species in Conservation Biology
Article Abstract:
The article concludes that the specific conditions required for successfully using substitute species in developing conservation policies are not likely to be present in most cases, and therefore substitution is a questionable tool in conservation efforts.
