City of frogs
Article Abstract:
An account is presented on Brisbane, Australia's frog resurgence, beginning in 1982 when a pair of Green Tree Frogs laid eggs in a suburban swimming pool. The subsequent tadpoles, passed to neighbors as giveaways, have since spawned an interest in frog-breeding, and consequently, an amphibian population explosion, upsetting the ecological balance in the area.

Plains-wanderer: Plains-wanderers have been living alongside sheep and cattle for well over a century
Article Abstract:
Two national parks created to save the plains-wanderer, a bird that depends upon sheep for its survival, are the first in Victoria and New south Wales where sheep are made to graze. They are very particular and need bare ground between tussocks to walk through between and fallen litter to investigate for insects and seeds.

1080 plants
Article Abstract:
The deaths of stock in the woodlands of Perth were due to certain pea-bushes, the Gastrolobium species that contain a toxic substance known as compound 1080 or sodium monofluroacetate. The 1080 plants play a special role in conserving Australia's biodiversity but because of the persecution by farmers, they are now rare.
