Closing in on gamma-secretase
Article Abstract:
Protein-cleaving enzymes known as beta-secretase and gamma-secretase produce A-beta, a short amyloid peptide involved in the neurodegeneration seen in Alzheimer's disease. Research into the identity of gamma-secretase has highlighted presenilin.
