Computational Science: Can get satisfaction
Article Abstract:
A series of rigorous insights into a class of computational puzzles, known as constraint-satisfaction problems that occur in diverse areas such as the scheduling of airline and train crews, data-mining, software design and computational biology is provided. Constraint-satisfaction problems are defined by a set of variables each of which can have a finite number of possible values, and a set of constraints.
