Conservation in practice: overcoming obstacles to implementation
Article Abstract:
Establishing and managing conservation policies require careful planning. Consideration should be given not only to individual species and situation-specific constraints, but also to ways in which processes outside immediate ecological functions affect policy implementation. These include governance and social awareness, such as agencies with the power to enforce policies and public education campaigns.

Evaluating Effects of Habitat Loss and Land-Use Continuity on Ant Species Richness in Seminatural Grassland Remnants
Article Abstract:
Studies in Sweden show that ecologically diverse and species-rich ant populations were found in grasslands that had been managed continuously over centuries, and that tree encroachment, rather than fragmentation, impacts species composition.
