Electrons held in a queue
Article Abstract:
Electrons are seen moving one by one when electric currents are made sufficiently small by using microelectric circuit due to which an accurate standard for current can be obtained. The applications of the single-electron tunneling (SET) oscillations, Coulomb repulsions and single-charge tunneling phenomena are discussed.

When is a metal not a metal?
Article Abstract:
New quantum mechanics to create a theory that distinguishes metals from insulators are described. It is found that adsorbed dopant atoms are used to tune the number of electrons to the point where band theory would predict a metal.
