DNMT3L connects unmethylated lysine 4 of histone H3 to de novo methylation of DNA
Article Abstract:
The proteins that have interacted with the product of an epitope-tagged allele of the endogenous Dnmt3L gene are identified by mass spectrometry as DNMT3A2, DNMT3B and the four core histones. The studies have shown that DNMT3L has recognized histone H3 tails that are unmethylated at lysine 4 and has induced de novo DNA methylation by recruitment or activation of DNMT3A2.

The BRCA2 homologue Brh2 nucleates RAD51 filament formation at a dsDNA-ssDNA junction
Article Abstract:
A full-length BRCA2 tumour suppressor homologue (Brh2), which stimulates RAD51-mediated recombination at substiochiometric concentrations relative to RAD51, is shown. Brh2 acts preferentially at a junction between double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) and ssDNA, with strict specificity for the 3' overhang polarity of a resected double-strand break (DSB).
