Methylation at lysine 4 of histone H3 in ecdysone-dependent development of Drosophila
Article Abstract:
Research shows that TRR protein is a histone methyltransferase that can trimethylate lysine 4 of histone H3. The trr gene acts upstream of hedgehog gene and mediates retinal differentiation in Drosophila. Data suggest that TRR serves as a coactivator of EcR protein by changing the chromatin structure at ecdysone-responsive promoters.

Role of histone H2A ubiquitination in Polycomb silencing
Article Abstract:
The purification and functional characterization of an E3 ubiquitin ligase complex that is specific for histone H2A. Chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis demonstrated colocalization of dRing with ubiquitinated H2A at the PRE and promoter regions of the Drosophila Ubx gene in wing imaginal discs.

UTX and JMJD3 are histone H3K27 demethylases involved in HOX gene regulation and development
Article Abstract:
The properties and functions of the ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide repeat X (UTX) and JMJD3 histone H3K27 demethylases are discussed. These proteins are found to be extremely effective for the regulation and development of the HOX genes.
