Diameter of the World-Wide Web
Article Abstract:
The huge size of the World Wide Web, estimated to be at least 8X10(8), makes it difficult to determine its local connectivity and distribution of links. A robot has been constructed which adds to its database all links found on each HTML document and follows these to retrieve the related documents. Despite its increasing size, it is found that the average diameter of the web is only 19 links.

Darwin and Einstein correspondence patterns
Article Abstract:
Charles Darwin's and Albert Einstein's patterns of correspondence and latest electronic exchanges follow the same scaling laws. The response times of their surface-mail communication is described by a different scaling exponent from e-mail communication, providing evidence for a new class of phenomena in human dynamics.
