Distributed leadership in semifree-ranging white-faced capuchin monkeys
Article Abstract:
The initiation of group movements in white-faced capuchin monkeys, Cebus capucinus were investigated inorder to determine whether a single individual with high dominance status consistently leads movements or whether leadership is distributed between group members. The results indicated that any monkey can initiate movement but success was more in initiators from the core position.

Dominance rank relationships among wild female African elephants, Loxodonta africana
Article Abstract:
African elephant populations in Kenya and Tanzania were compared with regard to dominance relationships within adult female family groups. Dominance ranks were found to be highly asymmetrical within dyads and were transitive within family groups; younger, smaller females were consistently dominated by older, larger females.

Nepotistic alarm calling in the Siberian jay, Perisoreus infaustus
Article Abstract:
The effect of parent-offspring relationships in promoting philapatry and the consequent formation of family units were studied in the Siberian jays, Perisoreus infaustus. The differences in the neoplastic alarm calling between the male and female reflect dominance relationships in Siberian jay groups.
