Drosophila Pgc protein inhibits P-TEFb recruitment to chromatin in primordial germ cells
Article Abstract:
The role of Drosophila embryos, a protein encoded by polar granule component (pgc) in the inhibition of the recruitment of positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) to chromatin in primordial germ cells is discussed. Pgc is found to play a very important role in the cell specification of Drosophila germ.

Gamete formation without meiosis in Arabidopsis
Article Abstract:
The gene dyad present in Arabidopsis is significant in apomeiosis process as it leads to the formation of asexual seeds and female gametes in plants. The analysis proves that the alteration of even one gene in a sexual plant can lead to functional apomeiosis.

Surrogate broodstock produces salmonids
Article Abstract:
Wild salmonids are under endangered species. It is shown that germ cells can be transplanted between two salmonid species resulting in the donor-derived offspring.
