Article Abstract:
The EPA's report on the health risks of dioxin is based on animal experimentation. The conclusions about the toxic effects of this carcinogenic substance and other compaounds on animals cannot be applied to the human case. Thus, animal toxicity testing is useless and needlessly cruel.

Animal rights and animal welfare are two entirely different things. Animal rights is a philosophy that states that non-human animals have the same right to exist as humans. Animal welfare activists believe that more humane exploitation of animals is needed.
