Eastern Pacific cooling and Atlantic overturning circulation during the last deglaciation
Article Abstract:
A high-resolution record of sea surface temperatures in the eastern tropical Pacific is derived from alkenone unsaturation measurements. The concurrence of equatorial Pacific cooling with the two North Atlantic cold periods during deglaciation has concluded that these millennial-scale climate changes are driven by a reorganization of the oceans' thermohaline circulation, although possibly amplified by tropical ocean-atmosphere interaction.

Cool stratification
Article Abstract:
One of the principal determinants of the Earth's mean temperature is the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Locking up atmospheric carbon dioxide by the high-latitude oceans invoke the relationship between seawater temperature and density.

Article Abstract:
The sedimentary geochemical records from sites spanning the deep subarctic Pacific is discussed which shows a poorly ventilated water mass containing a high concentration of respired carbon dioxide.
