Effects of coyote population reduction on swift fox demographics in southeastern Colorado
Article Abstract:
A comparison of swift fox population demographics is made between areas with and without coyote population reduction to understand the interactions of swift foxes and coyotes. Experimental data showed that coyote predation remained the main cause of juvenile and adult fox mortality in both areas.

Effects of coyote removal on the faunal community in western Texas
Article Abstract:
The coyote has an impact on the types of wildlife found in its habitat, and on the abundance of difference species. This is illustrated by an experiment in western Texas, where the impact of coyote removal in terms of remaining wildlife was examined during a period of two years when coyotes were removed. A total of 534 coyotes were removed, and after nine months there was a drop in wildlife diversity, with Ord's kanagaroo rat becoming the only rodent found in grasslands, and the most common in shrublands. There was an increase in gray foxes, bobcats and badgers in treatment sites. Raptors and cottontail rabbits were not affected by coyote density.
