Research presented concerns the effect of human activity on the levels of sediment found in Lake Tanganyika, East Africa, focusing on the impact to aquatic fauna. Topics addressed include habitat quality at different sites, species density and biodiversity for ostracods, fishes, and mollusks, and thresholds of disturbance for these freshwater animals.
