Endangered "entertainers." (performing animals) (Cover Story)
Article Abstract:
The possession of endangered or threatened animals is permitted by the Endangered Species Act (ESA) as long as these animals are to be kept for scientific purposes or used to promote the propagation of the species. Unfortunately, ESA regulations can be so broadly interpreted that some permit holders get away with using the animals for entertainment purposes.

Habitat vs. species
Article Abstract:
Designation of critical habitat for endangered species is widely opposed by the critics of the Endangered Species Act because it impedes the extraction and development of resources. A proposed solution to this issue is to adopt an ecosystem approach to habitat designation which would focus on saving entire ecosystems rather than any particular species.
