Article Abstract:
The human genome encodes an estimated 10,000 membrane proteins, but less than 1% have their three dimensional structures determined. Laboratories around the world are increasing their efforts to solve the crystal structures of membrane proteins, and the scientists who are willing to tackle these fickle molecules should flourish in both industry and academia.

Historians pool resources to halt trade in Iraq's stolen treasures

A catalogue of the objects stolen from the National archaeological museum in Baghdad is being created by the archaeologists. Images and descriptions of the artefacts will be entered into a database to help law-enforcement agents crack down on illegal trafficking.
