But his critics state that his vision is distracting the agency from its job of funding basic research.

Big money for cancer genomics
Article Abstract:
The US National institute of health is strongly supporting genomics in cancer research, and has launched a Human Cancer Genome Project that could take 10 years and cost US$ 1.5 billion. The pilot phase started is a crucial test for the institute, and for the genome scientists as it could help finding a drug.
