The purchase and retirement of 38 mineral-mining claims on additional habitat and designation of the 1.5 million acre park in Yukon, Canada by The Nature Conservancy in the US and Canada are described. The park is co-managed by the Yukon territorial government and the local tribe, the Vuntut Gwitch'in.
