Foraging behaviour and social group dynamics in Puget Sound killer whales
Article Abstract:
A study exploring the foraging behavior and social group dynamics of Puget Sound killerwhales was conducted. Results from observations indicate that Puget Sound killer whales act socially in food searching behavior but not in feeding behavior. They act in groups to search for prey but break up into units when hunting. Males usually hunted singly. This may be caused by their relative bodymass which is twice that of females.

Patch estimation by group foragers: what information is used?
Article Abstract:
An experiment exploring patch estimation behavior by group foragers, specifically budgerigars or Melospsittacus undulatus, was conducted. Theory indicates patch sample information or a combination of patch sample with pre-harvest and public information are used. Results indicate that a combination of patch sample information and pre-harvest information is used to establish the quality of the patch.
