Fossil evidence for an ancient divergence of lorises and galagos
Article Abstract:
The galagid and a possible lorisid from the late middle Eocene of Egypt which provides the earliest fossil evidence for the distinctive strepsirrhine toothcomb, is described. These discoveries approximately double the previous temporal range of undoubted lorisiforms.

There are fossils of bushbabies and lorises reported from the deposits of the , which could be as old as 20 million years to approximately 40 million years ago. The characteristics of the lemur, bushbabies and the lorises are discussed.
