Re-Os isotopic evidence for genesis of Archaean nickel ores from uncontaminated komatiites
Article Abstract:
Re-Os isotope data show that the ore-forming komatiites occurring in the upper mantle of the late Archaean greenstone terrains of Western Australia have been uncontaminated by radiogenic crust before and during turbulent surface flow. The Os isotopic concentrations of sulphide ores and the komatiite failed to reach radiogenic levels, the Re/Os ratio was low. The concentration of both Re and Os was also low. The results of the study indicate that ground melting and assimilation of sulphidic sediments is unimportant for ore formation.

Archaean Re-Os age for Siberian eclogites and constrains on Archaean tectonics
Article Abstract:
The determination that Siberian eclogites from the Udachnaya kimberlite pipe are from the Archaean age using rhenium-osmium isotope dating can help in understanding the evolution and nature of the Archaean age mantle. The eclogites are too young for early Earth differentiation but could be part of craton stabilization and crust generation. The presence of diamonds in the eclogites indicates a Siberian craton lithosphere of at least 150 km by the time the eclogites were formed.
