Genetic structure of fragmented populations of the endangered daisy Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides
Article Abstract:
Australia's Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides, an endangered species of daisy, is dependent on several environmental factors to preserve its genetic divergence. The daisy has lost much of its habitat due to urbanization, resulting in the fragmentation of several populations, which can cause inbreeding depression. Allelic richness erosion may also limit the plant's reproductive capacity.

Effects of population size on seed production and germinability in an endangered, fragmented grassland plant
Article Abstract:
Research on Australia's Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides indicates that nongenetic factors are more significant in determining plant germinability. Observation of small and large populations of this daisy species revealed that seed production was not dictated by a simple correlation with population size, but rather external factors such as rainfall or other environmental stresses.

Reproductive success in reestablished versus natural populations of a threatened grassland daisy (Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides)
Article Abstract:
Efforts are being made to revive the endangered Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides (asteraceae) from the risk of extinction. It is noted that apparent ability of reestablished population to produce seeds of greater germinability need to be taken care of.
