Glowing report may not avert closure of Dutch primate centre
Article Abstract:
Europe's chief primate center confronts a financial burden that could close the facility due to health budget slice in Netherlands in 1993. An international investigating committee chairman suggests that the center be maintained despite the cost. Reports propose a link-up with the academe and that the government intervene to finance the center. The destiny of the primates remains uncertain if the government decides otherwise.

Defeated but not deterred
Article Abstract:
Animal-rights protestors have helped to end plans for a primate research center at the University of Cambridge. It is argued that universities and funding bodies should not prepare for war with animal-rights activists, but continue with the lobbying that is winning people around.
