Going with the flow?
Article Abstract:
Magnetic fields are common in the interstellar gas in disk galaxies, having important effects on dynamics and energy balance of gas and star formation. Their morphology should reflect the structure of the ambient medium. The origin of galactic magnetic fields and the processes that maintain their observed states are still uncertain. Current theories on the topic revolve around the idea that the magnetic field is sustained by a dynamo and that the field is primordial with the extant magnetic flux being constant. Both theories are based on magnetohydrodynamics.

A starburst origin of the OH-megamaser emission from the galaxy Arp220
Article Abstract:
Controversy surrounds the energy source of ultraluminous infrared galaxies. The far-infrared ultraluminous galaxy Arp220 is an OH megamaser, emitting laser-like lines at microwave frequencies. Observations suggest that the megamaser's infrared radiation power could have its origins in either a burst of massive-star formation or an active galactic nucleus, but it continues to remain a mystery.
