The rescue of Trudy the chimpanzee from the Chipperfield circus was the result of an 18-month investigation by UK-based Animal Defenders. The efforts led to the conviction of Mary Chipperfield for cruelty to Trudy and the two-year-old chimp's recovery at the Monkey World sanctuary in Dorset.

Behind the walls of the beagle factory

The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection has obtained video footage of the beagle breeding facilities of Harlan UK. The footage allegedly shows the firm's improper care for the dogs and numerous violations of government regulations on animal research.

Purrfect outcome for Hillgrove cats
Article Abstract:
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals rescued 800 cats from Hillgrove Farm. Hillgrove, the only British facility breeding cats for experiments, is going out of business after a two-year campaign against its operation.
