Hair today, not gone tomorrow?
Article Abstract:
The uncooperative feature of Northern hairy-nosed Wombats as hair donors is their inconveniently low level of genetic diversity amongst the lowest measured for any mammal. This indicates that only single hair can be used as DNA sources, since with low genetic power it is more difficult to recognize a sample that contains hairs from multiple individuals.
